Service Description

Through our Art program the individual will experience how to express their creative sides. We will allow them to learn a form of expression through colors, drawing, painting, and other forms of art. The children will be using watercolors, tempera paint, acrylic paint, chalk pastels, clay and ceramics, markers, line drawing, and other forms of art. The following things will be focused on for the student’s development: Self-awareness- the individual will learn how to recognize their emotions, thoughts, values, and how to identify their strengths, weaknesses, and external limitations. They will experience that through their tasked projects.  Self-Management- taking responsibility for their behavior, they will learn to effectively control their emotions, and make choices that effectively lead them toward their long-term goals. Instead of procrastinating or making instant gratification choices that have detrimental impacts on their long-term goals. They will be tasked with scheduled timed projects. Social-awareness- students will learn to take the perspective of, and empathize with others, including those from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Relationship Management- students will learn the ability to maintain and establish healthy and rewarding relationships with the other students. Students will be challenged to be inte ntional about their relationships and the community that they create.
